Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Jared Ferguson
I have worked in public education for 25 years, first becoming a high school teacher, then a principal, followed by district administrator before coming to UCAS. As a teacher I taught physical science my first years and then also began teaching biology and environmental technology. In choosing to become a teacher I was inspired by my own high school biology teacher to develop my love for entomology and I ended up getting my bachelor's degree in entomology from BYU, followed by my teaching credential. Besides studying science, my other great passion in education is helping teachers connect students with their interests with plans for the future. I love working at UCAS and after being on the Board for more than 8 years I was delighted when I had the opportunity to help with the schools expansion into Provo. I frequently remind the students at UCAS that I am inspired by their incredible work ethic, their kindness, and their care for others, these characteristics make for a great environment to work and learn in.
