GEAR UP is a federally funded program that provides students with the tools and resources they will need to successfully complete high school while preparing for post-secondary education (college, trade school, etc.).

GEAR UP provides the following services at no cost:

    Tutoring and homework assistance

A GU class for elective credits designed to help students excel in their other classes

    Comprehensive mentoring

    College and career exploration

Financial literacy, financial aid, and scholarship information/help

    Summer programs

    College and career tours

    Family events

    Support with college applications

ACT prep and two free ACT tests

There is no cost to participate in the GU program; however, eligibility is based on household income criteria. An application can be submitted at uvu.edu/gearup. If you would like to sign more than one student up for the program then you will need to complete a separate application for each student, if you have a student that has already completed an application in the past there is no need to submit a new one.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

    Thank you,
