    Science Research Initiative (SRI)

The SRI offers every incoming College of Science student the opportunity to participate in scientific research. First- and second-year students tackle cutting-edge problems in dedicated research streams sponsored by local industries. No lab experience is expected - students will learn techniques directly from faculty and research mentors.
Meet fellow science and math students, connect with college faculty, and create a community at the U. Scholarships are available!

Students can apply to the SRI after being accepted to the U, beginning on December 1.

    ACCESS Scholarship

Talented students with a passion for science, math, and/or engineering and an interest in advancing gender equity in the STEM disciplines are invited to apply to ACCESS after acceptance to the U. The application deadline is March 1. ACCESS is truly the start of a lifetime for any STEM major! This exceptional program has a 30-year record of success and boasts a network of over 800 alumni.
